LAFARO - EASY MEAT

Lafaro are a band that we’ve been hearing more and more about over the past few months, and today is the day that they release their sophomore full-length to the masses, along with news of a joint UK tour in November with none other than our old pals Hold Your Horse Is.

Easy Meat’ is a ferocious beast of an album, with thunderingly heavy metal riffs and screams. It’s the sort of dangerous music that calls to mind images of long-haired, drunken, sweaty nutcases at festivals from my youth.   It’s brilliantly aggressive and out-of-control. As well as the aural carnage that carries on throughout the album like a wrecking ball, the tracks are interspersed with delightful snippets of people talking (well, hurling abuse at each other in Irish accents), as well as girly laughs and other things. It’s a nice way to break up and add room into what could be an intimidating listen. Hailing from Belfast, the quartet surely are a band that must be seen in person to really appreciate.

Lafaro are on tour right now, with the following dates:

Monday 3rd October – Boileroom, Guilford
Tuesday 4th October – Portland Arms, Cambridge
Wednesday 5th October - Garage, London
Thursday 6th October – Joiners, Sounthampton
Friday 7th October – Forum, Tunbridge Wells
Saturday 8th October – Buffalo, Cardiff
Sunday 9th October - The Croft, Bristol
Monday 10th October – Stereo, York
Tuesday 11th October – The Rainbow, Birmingham

The November dates are as follows:

Friday 4th November Preston, Mad Ferret
Saturday 5th November Hartlepool, The Clarendon
Sunday 6th November Edinburgh, Bannerman
Monday 7th November Glasgow, Captains Rest
Wednesday 9th November Nottingham, The Maze
Thursday 10th November London, The Old Blue Last
Saturday 12th November Leicester, The Firebug

although we’ve been informed by one of the Horses that the Preston date may not be accurate, so it’s worth confirming the dates with the venues before you book up.

You can stream the whole album below before you decide to go out and purchase it with your hard-earned cash.
